Chasing 10 year old dreams…

It’s never to late to do what you always wanted to do!! Ever since I can remember I wanted to move to New York City and work at a magazine. There was never one in particular, but I always envisioned myself in the BIG apple! Over the last year and a

half I have been working on my master’s in Digital Media and part of the curriculum is an internship! After much prayer and sending out several applications my dream came true! I landed an internship at Maxim Magazine. Never question why things happen in a certain way, just leave it in God’s hands! He will always take care of you and boy did he take care of me! I couldn’t be more grateful to be where I am now and accomplishing my goals!

What does this mean for you? I know that’s what you are thinking! There is always the option of you making the trip to New York in the fall for some beautiful portraits in Central Park!!:)

Once December comes I’ll graduate and only time will tell where I may end up. Maybe here in NYC or back in Houston! It’s exciting not knowing the plan! After so much planning I’m going to see where this new adventure leads me! Here’s to new memories!

NEW YORK!! NEW YORK!!

This is what I probably looked like when I found out!:)Actually I was in shock for a while and it didn’t get real until I started packing!

Ashley, my roommate, captured these shots of me in Central Park, my favorite spot in the city! I’m absolutely in love with this city!

Rockefeller Center! I work one block away on Madison! Sometimes I have lunch at the plaza! Yes, I’m truly blessed!

My family visited recently and it was wonderful! I had never gone so long without seeing them.:)

Mom and I at Central Park!

Visiting Lady Liberty!

I’ll be posting more NYC photos! YAY!

Happy New Year!! 2012 will be an awesome year!

If you would have told me that I would be here in this particular spot in 2012, I would have said no! But that’s the beauty of it all. No matter how much planning or how we might think things may happen…the only thing that does happen is life. So I let it happen and I began to live it!! And from all that living I’ve learned a lot, changed, become my own person.

In this new year I will finish my master’s program in Digital Media from the University of Houston-Clear Lake Campus. I started a year ago, so by December I should be walking across the stage again. It will be another major accomplishment!! This spring I will be busy looking for internships-I’ll be searching for something in New York. It will be a dream come true if I find something in the city. They say it’s never to late to chase your dreams and this one has been a dream for at least 10 years.

If it all works out hopefully I’ll be able to knock out some goals from my 101 in 1001 days. I think I’ve done more than I’ve given myself credit for, but just don’t have photos to prove it. I’m excited to say that I’ll be volunteering with the Go Tejano Committee for the Houston Rodeo!! It has been a long time coming but I finally signed up and was accepted! That means that I’ll be able to cross out #24!

And as you have probably noticed, living life gets in the way of blogging sometimes. Hopefully I can do a better job of that this year!:)

This past year was full of adventures-some good, some bad! This year will be even better. It’s how you deal with the experiences that make the difference! Happy New Year to you all! xoxo!
